How long have you been with IOIT?
10 years in July
What brought you to IOIT?
Wanted to be part of a growing company where I could make a difference.
What was your first impression of Instant On IT:
Great group of very smart people.
Describe a typical working day for you:
No such thing as a typical day which keeps things interesting. I normally get to the first client site for the morning visit at 8.50am and jump straight onto the ticket system, grab a coffee and put together a list of people to talk to during the site visit. Next stop is to visit the site IT contact and see if there is anything that they have that may not have been raised in the ticket system and have a good catch-up. Then, caffeine fuelled, it’s time to start to see people who have logged issues. These can be all sorts of thing IT related from IT advice through to recommending systems that could be put in place to meet a requirement that they may have. Then, it is time to grab some lunch and hit the next client site for the afternoon visit which may or may not, invariably, bring similar or completely different queries and challenges.
What is your favourite thing about the work you do?
Being out and interacting with the clients face to face.
On a typical day, what do you have for lunch?
Depends on where I am, usually try to be near the office at lunchtime as the nearby market has a huge choice of food, Jack Daniels Jambalaya is the current favourite.
What are you most famous for at Instant On IT?
My love of biscuits!
What makes a dream client?
A client who wants to invest in technology to make their business better.
What’s your favourite business/life quote?
“If you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time.”
What area of IT interests you most?
Office 365 and cloud computing
What has been your best memory during your time at Instant On IT so far (at work or at one of our social events)?
It has to be one of the boat trips to Croatia we went on. Fresh air, good food and amazing views. Nothing beats sitting on the boat having a cold beer watching the sunset.
